How to Choose Stockings and a Garter Belt
Not sure whether you need stockings, a garter belt or hold-ups? Here is the difference, plus a few things to check before you buy.
What is a garter belt?
A garter belt is a band worn around your waist or hips. Its straps attach to suitable stockings to help hold them up.
This black garter belt set (LSG3657) lists a belt, detachable thigh-high stockings and adjustable straps.

Thigh-highs or hold-ups?
Thigh-highs describes stockings that reach up the thigh. The name alone does not tell you how they stay up.
Hold-ups (or stay-ups) use a gripping band, often silicone, to stay up without a belt. Check the stated size.
Fishnet describes the open mesh pattern. A lace top does not automatically mean a pair is a hold-up.
These black fishnet stockings (LSG3651-BK) have diamond mesh and a decorative lace band. Check their support details.

Buying a set or mixing separates?
Want a belt and stockings together? This white lace set (LSG3663) lists a wide lace belt, detachable thigh-high stockings and adjustable straps.
For separates, check how the belt attaches and whether the stocking top is suitable. Not every pairing works. Ask the store if the listing is unclear.

A quick check before ordering
- Contents: stockings alone, or a belt-and-stocking set?
- Size: read the exact item's size information. “One size” does not mean every size. Ask if the description and size field differ.
- Support: check whether the pair needs a belt and how it attaches.
- Care: the three linked listings say cold hand wash. Follow each item's own drying and care directions.
